When I was a kid there was apparently 900 police stations and police foot patrols in cities... now there is probably less than 300... and no police on the high streets. Libraries closed... youth services closed... etc No one really is building council or social housing Nurses (just picking one group) pay for training.. we need nurses ... we restrict them amongst other and create a debt they carry with them for decades. Pension age gets raised etc . It wasn't always like this. Now apparently we cannot afford social services.... we talk about cutting benefit ....and because we are all hurting ... we want to spread the hurt and lash out at other and think those with nothing are scroungers Yet we still talk of UBI .... What changed We allowed the wealthy to syphon off public money.... that we collected in taxes and spent on the public And the wealthy spread the story that we cannot afford caring for the poorest of us and everything is unaffordable Just Tax the rich ffs
