@Edmonds_Scanner@universeodon.com This is reassuring because no matter how hard I concentrate I just can't get my tentacles to grow.

I've come to realize that the lifestyle I lead in South Dakota is extraordinarily unhealthy, and my unhealthy, unbalaced lifestyle has become encoded in my behaviors and social interactions. I should treat escaping SD as the matter of life or death that it is.

I just had a granola bar from HEB that was the best granola bar of my entire life. How is it that the food is always twice as good and half the price whenever I visit Texas?

I like getting out of South Dakota but I don't think I could live in a suburb of big city Texas. Traffic is crazy here and it doesn't cool off at night. Spokane in the aughts was a perfect place to live - cheap rent, tall trees, great parks, a fun downtown, public transportation, populated but not crowded to the point of being crazy.

Deleting #Facebook is intentionally difficult; those wanting to delete will find that they are led through a maze of menu options. This webpage has a link that will take you directly to the deletion page if you are logged into your Facebook account on a PC. Perhaps the best thing you can do is post this link to your Facebook account a week before deleting it to help others learn about this fast and easy shortcut. https://deletefacebook.com/

I smell smoke. Is this the first forest fire of what will probably be a very active season? The American West is going to burn unless we get some real precipitation.

Unfortunately, Megan the beautiful barrel racer isn't here to be captivated by my photos of a forest fire ominously moving closer and filling the neighborhood with smoke. Does anyone remember #MegantheBeautifulBarrelRacer? People like her didn't follow us to the Fediverse. We have lots of photos of moss, though.

"According to the most widely repeated version, Johnston had married a Flathead (Salish) woman, variously named βSwanβ in later accounts, and returned to their cabin one day to find her killed, along with evidence that she had been pregnant. The murder was attributed to Crow warriors, and Johnston supposedly vowed and pursued a one-man vendetta against the entire Crow nation for years thereafter, killing and scalping Crow men and....consuming the liver of each victim" https:/...

I live within spitting distance of a S.A.C. airbase, and just east of a cluster of eastern Wyoming's missile silos. In case of nuclear war, I plan to get as close to the airbase as I can, put on sunglasses and sunscrean, and wait for it in a fucking lawn chair.

In my dreams last night: A mended friendship, a place of honor, a large bed, and words of reassurance. Yet I am pursued by something cold and unfeeling. In a place where I don't really belong, thesis committee issues stalk me through the night. #MyDreamJournal

Due to the heavy prevalence of political content in my feed, I've decided to take another mental health hiatus from the Fediverse. My life right now already takes so much of my emotional energy - a social media feed that robs me of what I have left just isn't healthy for me right now. I'm okay β just focusing on offline life for a while. I might be back when the overnight lows are above freezing.

I once went into one in Spokane, WA. The naughty video room was upstairs. Along with a selection of adult films, they had this bin full of artificial (probably molded latex?) body parts - not just boobs, butts, weiners and woohoos, but weird stuff like elbows, ears, and feet. And none of them were in blister packaging - they were all unlabelled and weirdly wrapped in cellophane. @geekysteven@beige.party https://beige.party/@geekysteven/115990542198240355

Amazon has raised the threshold for free shipping from 25 dollars for books to 45, and for other items from 35 to 50. I live at the ass end of supply chains, in the country's hollow center, and finding specific products locally can be very frustrating. Sometimes Amazon is the only place I can find something that would be easy to find anywhere else. But Amazon's price hikes for free shipping is going to make local shopping very appealing to me now.

@ObsidianUrbex@mstdn.social The first image has blue pain peeling from the most impressive interior, but the green pain would be the most satisfying to peel off the walls with my hands.
