Amazon has raised the threshold for free shipping from 25 dollars for books to 45, and for other items from 35 to 50. I live at the ass end of supply chains, in the country's hollow center, and finding specific products locally can be very frustrating. Sometimes Amazon is the only place I can find something that would be easy to find anywhere else. But Amazon's price hikes for free shipping is going to make local shopping very appealing to me now.
