I had a corkscrew carrot to put in my chicken stew on Monday...

Dammit, FedEx is now late, and I need to go out for milk this afternoon.

If Fedex don't arrive soon, they'll get caught by the afternoon school-street hours...

Yarn!!!! Burnt Sienna Yak, Natural Vanilla Baby Cashmere, Natural Milk Chocolate Yak.

Time to go boing, yet another early morning tomorrow to get to the hairdresser.

At last my hair is complete again! Er, I mean blue & purple.

OK, had my hair done, had a coffee & snack, updated ravelry with the new yarn ... goodness, it's nearly 2pm. Must be almost dinnertime, then.

I think I'm off to bed. Didn't get a nap today, & both legs having been playing up, I've exhausted myself walking.

The latest part of my body that is objecting to doing its assigned job is the left knee, which is protesting about having to lie down, stand up, walk, sit, and generally exist. This is not conducive to peaceful sleep.

I'm slightly knackered - walked up to Archway, got a C11 to Swiss Cottage, & walked all the way up from the stop by the tube station to just before Waitrose, crossed over, & got a bus back. Walked down the sunny side of my street, which is nice (my side only gets sun early in the morning at midsummer...). Time for dinner now - mac & cheese.

Despite having finished this cowl about a month ago, I don't seem to have taken a pic! The pattern is called Leftover City Cowl; I've made it in the leftovers (hah!) from the Prismatic Honeycomb shawl I made over Christmas/New Year.

MacOS updated, I've done 3 rounds on the sock (so it's caught up to the other one). Time to go to bed.

Well, I had been intending to do a short walk (down to the crossing, along, back up from the next crossing), as the weather was ok; but it's just started raining quite hard.

I did my little walk, but in the opposite direction - along to Bargain Buys, via the Pound+ shop, then across to check the hardware shop. No luck in any of them - I was after larger garden kneelers. I just need something about an inch thick to put by the bed to help me get *in* (out is no problem!), and was thinking one kneeler, or two stacked, would be enough. But Bargain Buys only had narrow ones, and only 1cm thick. I'll find something else, I expect.

I had a lie-down before dinner, but having eaten most of a quiche (the inside, not the crusts) plus a dessert, I think I need to go for another one. I am a sad old biddy.

Done a bit of knitting-related stuff - measured some extant socks & worked out how much longer to make the ones I'm (re-)knitting, and done the first round after putting thumb stitches on hold on my Cranfords. I've changed the water filter, and put the bins out. Time to stop adulting, I think.

I have nothing I need to go out for, and I expect a lot of shops are still shut, anyway; but I could do with a little exercise, and while the sun is shining... I'll put crocs on, walk down to the crossing, along to the next one back up Junction Road, cross back, & home.

Actually walked 2 crossings up, went into the shop that hosts the PO (PO obviously closed) & got some jiffy bags. Now having lunchtime snack; 2 pork, cheddar, & Marmite saus rolls, to be followed by 2 warmed welsh cakes. And maybe some more of the choccie egg.

@Weregopher Something to consider for the #FurryRebelAlliance? https://substack.com/@inspiringdesigns/note/c-230329931?r=3uhoem&utm_medium=ios&utm_source=notes-share-action

Haven't got any knitting done yet - I've got the latest socks out, and sanded down the cable needle for them, and I've printed off (with a lot of faff!) the pattern for a shawl I want to do, and checked where the yarn is in the Knitronomicorner. So it's now nearly 4pm, which makes it time for dinner - the left-over potatoes with ham & onion from yesterday, and another egg & more cheese.

I was going to go to bed on time again, but I made the mistake of setting another 2 knitting books to be sent to Kindle, and now I've still got another 15 minutes before I can close down the laptop.

Nice chat with Roberta, good lunch ... until one of my front teeth broke off. Managed to get an inspection appointment at the dentist tomorrow lunchtime, though; I suspect it'll be a referral to somewhere for an extraction.

Oh, look. 11.20. Dentist tomorrow. Therefore, bed now.

Back from dentist; had it looked at, had an X-ray; the obvious solution would have been post & crown, but apparently the roots aren't in good enough condition for that, so I have to go back next week for them to take impressions. Then at the end of the month I have to have it EXTRACTED (AAARRRGGGHHH!!!), and will be fitted with a small plate with One Tooth on it.

Finished Saturday's 'hard' Samurai Su Doku, so I think I'll be off to bed.

    Yay, new t-shirt has arrived!

I suppose I should take my evening paracetamol & go to bed. Got gas servicing bods coming tomorrow afternoon, so I'll need to get the week's casserole (lamb!!) in the slow cooker, and then clear some of the stuff out of the front of the boiler cupboard before they come.

@Cadbury_Moose@wandering.shop I've just (well, at the weekend) finished the 94th (approximately?) pair of Cranford mitts for one friend, and have started pair 95, for another friend, after which I'll be making pair 96 for myself. First pair was made in 2010, for my nibling; pair 2, for me, also in 2010. (Yours were pair 92. Just looked it up.)

@Cadbury_Moose@wandering.shop Started Feb 12th, finished today. 6 weeks? Not over complicated, but fussy, and the dark purple looks black under electric light. I could NOT manage the original stitch, a tuck stitch; when you drop a stitch, you CANNOT pick it up again (well, I couldn't). I resorted to plain K1P1 rib.

Turns out I *can* braise one chopped leek in my smaller frying pan. Useful to know! The smoked haddock, being skinless, fell apart entirely in its butter/milk, and the whole was DELICIOUS.
