  I hate the time travel trope in fiction. It doesn't work. If time travel were possible at all in our universe, someone eventually in the future would discover it. If someone or something smart enough does(and they'd probably were smart if they'd discovered time travel), they'd put in place a system to prevent abuse of time travel, by either negating it or perhaps trapping less advanced travelers. Effectively making it impossible again.

  Twingos are cool again. That's amazing, maybe things are changing for the better and the world will finally move on from stupid big SUVs. Though I would still like if my city would finally add proper (not just painted) bicycle lanes instead of forcing bikes onto the road.

  I am disappointed with the aesthetics of the world. Everything looks bland. Concrete houses with glass facades, Silver colored laptops no matter which brand, phones look all the same from more then 2 meters away. And cars are all black (and most still are SUVs). The web got reduced to just a few social media sites and the rest is WordPress. People stopped dressing interestingly, modern fashion magazines look like a moodboard for the Handmaids tale. Even people I know, that used to be alternative...

  Who is we and who are they? If someone of fedi writes something to the extend of "We gotta solve x", is we the average fedi user/demographic? So tech-people and queers? But that would also include Peter Thiel. Or is it just the reader? But posts might refer to more people then just the specific group of people reading a post. And they, that is certain, obviously reffers to the lizard people.

  What is stopping architects and city planmers from putting fake masonry (cast concrete tiles painted white) onto ugly utility buildings and multi-level parking garages and stuff. I think it is so frustrating that most buildings wouldn't have to look as ugly as they do.

  An odd and, to me troubling, realization that hits me every once in a while: Concidering my demographic and environment growing up, I am pretty sure that if I hadn't ended up being trans, were slightly dumber and would have had less progressive friends in school, I would not have turned out even slightly as progressive as I did. I would have probably ended up somewhere down the alt-right pipeline, tempted by all the weird fantasies of order and identity so many young people fall for.

  I find the increasing apathy for and acceptance of surveillance in both public and digital spaces concerning. Especially in the EU. Just some years ago there were even privacy focused political parties that did fairly well and the EU did the #privacy laws it is famous for. But now Germany and other #EU countries want a domestic equivalent for Palantir? And there is no outcry about it. Also, that Germans went along with the whole Vorratsdatenspeicherung/preemptive storing of phone calls is baffli...

  Using #Linux on (by the manufacturer) utterly unsupported hardware makes you learn so many useful things. For example: I would have never even thought about tinkering with the EQ of my laptop speakers, if the speaker drivers for Linux on my specific macbook hadn't omitted tuning entirely. (though I love that they exist at all. It weirdly all works. And DKMS was interesting too. I didn't even know it exists before.) Anywho, it sounds good now. Much to my surprise.
