I know my city says the earthy/pond-like smell and taste of our water due to algae bloom recently is safe and aesthetic-only, but I hope they can fix it soon. My kitchen and bathroom smell like a swamp and the water taste is bad, even from my filtered refrigerator water. Makes me gag, if not worse, so I guess I'm sensitive to this. #Colorado #AlgaeBloom #CityWater

It's raining here in Greeley, Colorado! They're calling it a severe thunderstorm. But sadly the expectation has reduced to 2mm instead of 7mm as forecasted earlier this morning. Similar situation tomorrow tomorrow. #Rain #Colorado

Argh. I made my ex-husband no-contact for months now and I'm days away from paying him the last of what I owe him from when we were together. There is absolutely no reason why he should contact me in any fashion. And yet he tried to call me last night! 😵‍💫 #Exes #NoContact

Dang...just got a text from my apartment managers. We've been having our water that smells and tastes different for a few days now. Turns out there is an algae bloom that has impacted the water system for the entire city of Greeley, Colorado. And true to form, the city doesn't plan to discuss it for several days, but we're supposed to boil our drinking water for the time being. #Colorado #AlgaeBloom #Greeley #WaterSystem

This was a rather interesting interview to read with an AI/data center sceptic with a lens of Apple's impact. https://www.macrumors.com/2026/07/27/ed-zitron-apple-watch-it-burn-ai-bubble-bursts/ #Apple #DataCenters #AI #Interview

@alexadeswift@lgbtqia.space Thanks for participating in the poll, Alexa! Sorry about that. I went back and forth if I should have "do" before the enjoy on the positive case. In the end, including it appealed to my sense of order. But not having it would have made it clearer which was the appropriate choice to make.

I'm wondering how many people enjoy gamification in apps, and if there is any correlation with being ND (neurodivergent). #Gamification #ActuallyAutistics #ActuallyADHD #ActuallyAuDHD

@SunnJax@tech.lgbt Beautiful! The strawflowers (especially the white one with the orange ring) are particularly beautiful. Can't say I've ever seen them in person, sadly.

I just a new step of self care. I've been subscribed to the digital version of my city's newspaper. This news site uses patterns of changing the articles many times a day. And if you don't see them then, you have no idea the article happened. As such, I have found myself on the site on the order of 20 times a day or more, just so I can stay informed. In addition, a lot of the articles they post are irrelevant to me or cause me distress. This is not healthy, so I cancelled the subs...

I just finished watching the very interesting iTV/britbox series McDonald & Dodds. But that's not what I want to talk about. It has a very photorealistic title sequence. It was created in the last decade, so the technology is current. Why is it so easy to know the imagery is computer generated and not based in the physical world? Granted this has impossible shots and some obvious animations. But even before that, I knew it was artificial. It could be simply uncanny valley, but maybe i...

Three good things: -> It's 38C/102F here, but I'm able to be indoors with good air conditioning. -> A post here reminded me I hadn't yet updated my kitty's microchip with my current address or name, so thank you, Fediverse! 😻 -> We're getting closer to knowing my acute GI issue. It's very possible it is a lifetime condition. It's good because there are treatments to manage it, once we know the specifics. @3goodthings@fedigroups.social #3GoodThings

A small city near me just debated and decided on allowing a Walmart onto their Main Street. The city I used to live in was faced with this dilemma decades ago. They approved it, choosing for it to be developed on the edge of town. It proceeded to decimate the small businesses on our Main Street. In addition, it moved development activity away from the Main Street, so all the city planning for housing, roads, and other infrastructure was for naught. And also, they feverishly blocked another larg...

You know how one sock often goes into another universe, never to be seen again? Well, I just ran across a single sock of my ex-husband's, hiding behind my nightstand. I no-contacted him months ago, and it was months before that he had stayed over with me to help out post-surgery. Of course I brought it to the trash bin right away, but rather interesting! #Exes #LostSocks

Normally Belle's ears are facing directly forward. But when I give her Delectables (her favorite liquid treat) -- similar to kitty churros -- both her ears swing to the sides and she excitedly laps up the liquid as I continually praise her for being a good girl. Soooo adorable; makes me glow with happiness having her in my life. #Cats #CatTreats

I had a very positive and rather negative thing happen in the same day. The positive is that I need dental work done soon as part of my Sjogren's need for 3 month cleanings instead of every 6 month. I need to get scaling & root planing, which is very expensive for me. It turns out my dental office, once a year, does a community give-back day where they do dental work gratis. That is mid next month, they had 2 slots left, and I got one of them! The negative is that, when I had Medicaid,...

@autoperipatetikos@neurodifferent.me Glad to have raised awareness! It was unfortunate that the TV series was released; wonder how it got green-lit to begin with. On the positive, it looks like we've come a long way since 2014!

I just watched the very problematic to autistic people iTV show Chasing Shadows. BritBox listed the show as a dark comedy featuring a socially inept person. The Wikipedia article calls the lead character a misfit before later indicating undiagnosed autism. I'm so disappointed such viewpoints were present in 2014, when the show aired. The show went out of the way to poke fingers as if to say "look at the funny autistic person!". I watched the show, of course, totally identifying w...
