I had a very positive and rather negative thing happen in the same day.
The positive is that I need dental work done soon as part of my Sjogren's need for 3 month cleanings instead of every 6 month. I need to get scaling & root planing, which is very expensive for me. It turns out my dental office, once a year, does a community give-back day where they do dental work gratis. That is mid next month, they had 2 slots left, and I got one of them!
The negative is that, when I had Medicaid, my state was paying my Medicare premium. When I ended Medicaid at the end of last month, I expected the subsidy to go through the end of the year, as had happened in the past. Instead starting next month, I'll have to absorb the over $200 monthly Medicare cost. I can make it work because I have to, but thought I had a half year left to prepare.
