@ggmartin@mastodon.social Sadly, so very true. We also lose the ability to think for ourselves in many cases, and in the case of AI to be able to discern what is truth from what we're presented with.

@ggmartin@mastodon.social @aral@mastodon.ar.al I live near Dune Peninsula park, named after Frank Herbert's work and built on top of the copper smelter slag pile that partly inspired Dune. I walk around that park and I think of how 100% exactly on target he was about what giving machines the ability to think (or the facsimile there of) would do to us.
