@68000 I had a different version of Optimus, the one that had a MUCH more simplified transformation (and the front of the truck cab on both his front and back sides...), which would also use the trailer to become a MUCH bigger version of himself. To capture that feeling again, my bf got me the Optimus LEGO version for my b-day a couple of years ago 😀

@68000 I remember it so clearly because I had this aunt who always seemed to find the next "it" toy before any of us knew about it. None of us had heard about Transformers when I got this for Christmas, and I was just fucking over the moon about it. I lived in a small town, and if it was not advertised on television or available at our tiny walmart it did not exist.

@68000 SAME. Best gift ever. My parents still tell the story of how they scoured the country trying to find one for me - they were sold out everywhere. They didn’t need to worry though, Santa brought me one.

@68000 This, but for Powermaster Optimus, a few years later. I did get the original Optimus at some point before that, but PMOP is the one I *remember* getting.
