Side project announcement: I'm parking my current side project and may return to it one day. You don't need to know what it was. I just need to say out loud that I need to move on from it. I hadn't actually started it, but without 'officially' saying that I'm not working on it, my mind is almost continuously occupied with it... Even if I'm not doing it. Is any of this making sense? Anyway, I'm hoping this will free me up to consi...

Whenever I'm putting away the knives after washing up, I sing 'kids, don't play with too many knives". Every time.

I'm back from Leeds. It seemed nice. Yesterday was exhausting. The work thing finished early at around 1pm, but my train wasn't until just after 5pm. This gave me 4 hours of waiting-not-waiting for the train in a state of feeling pretty anxious and not knowing what to do with myself.

Was actually raining a little as I walked to the station this morning. It was nice. Didn't last long enough though which was probably a good thing as I didn't have a coat and risked smelling like wet Donkey by the time I got to the office

    Up to this nonsense again...

Huh, Wikipedia lists Rise of the Triad as using a modified Wolfenstein 3D engine. I always thought it was an early Build engine game

I've been replying Duke3D on Switch, and id completely forgotten how often it just spawns enemies in behind you. Idk, I think I prefer the monster closets of Doom. At least it makes sense where they came from. I've backed Duke loads of times into areas that I just cleared out only to be shot in the back by recently spawned enemies. ... also those exploding drone enemies suck But yknow, I'm having fun

If you've never seen the Brio train with little ultrasonic water mister then here it is. It's delightful.

I have to go to Leeds on Monday and Tuesday for a work thing. I won't have much spare time, but is there anything I need to see whilst I'm there? I've never been to Leeds.

#Gaming question for the evening: which game do you think you've bought the most times? My Resident Evil 2 collection is well documented which probably wins for me. I guess I've bought Doom 5 times, and idk how many iterations of Street Fighter 2, but maybe the different editions don't count. #RetroGaming

Does anyone know if there's a calendar anywhere for upcoming #RetroComputing and #RetroGaming events in the UK? I'd love to get to more stuff, but I always seem to find out on the date things are happening.

Gordon Brown and Ed Milliband hitting the headlines like it's the early 2000's ... Quick quick... Where are my huge trousers that wick puddles up to the knee??

Big steamy triple expansion double-action engine courtesy of the Hereford Waterworks Museum Could you imagine this Donkey in overalls turning valves and whatever to make this thing do the thing it's doing? I reckon I could easily break something in record time.

I pre-ordered Indiana Jones and the Great Circle for Switch 2 (mostly because there was a discount) and it arrived today.... And this actually does seem to be a game cart rather than a key. I was pretty curious about it last year, but as my only PC platform is a steam deck, had to wait. But I'm still gonna finish my current play through of RE: Village! I'm not someone who has multiple games on the go at one time. My Donkbrain can't handle changing between control scheme...

Don't know if I've mentioned this before, but the borderlands games won't let me use my name because it contains a banned word.... But I can pick assassin as a class and that has TWO 'ass'es in it... Holding users to unreasonable double standards

For #VGMWednesday I'm going to ramp up those anxiety levels and hit you with some of the Undercaves music from ECCO the Dolphin. One of the early levels in the game that gives you a glimpse of just how tough it's gonna be to succeed as a paradox busting, Atlantis exploring, prehistoric menacing, alien exterminating, sea going mammal https://youtu.be/K4guZ5SozW8

IDK, whenever I see posts about the #3DS, everyone is talking about the game library, or streetpass, or some other quirky feature and I'm all like..."you know it was 3D too right?? I mean, actual, glassesless 3-frickinD?? Right there... Tiny tiny Ryu throwing cute fireballs that hovered across the screen Infront of you??" So do people not like the 3D of the 3DS? Is it not popular? Please participate in my very important poll #Gaming #RetroGaming #Nintendo #2DS

Just read an article saying that they're remaking AC:Black Flag but without the mandatory open plan office simulation and it looks like they've been reading my blog from *checks watch* 8 years ago https://hundstrasse.com/2018/01/03/assassins-creed-iv-black-flag-redacted-redacted-redacted-black-flag/

Reading assistant on Science direct is one of the most obnoxious ai integrations I have to deal with. Every paper I open it pops up asking if I want help reading. It's a resounding no... No I don't... And I really worry for people starting in research now that the skill of quickly digesting information is going to be entirely lost.

Donktrait no. 74: "oh no, I really don't like turn based games. They've never been my thing" unrelated I've just started replaying Hard West... Again... This is why I'm a super fun person to speak to *Gets run over by tumbleweed*

Long shot, but does anyone know what system variable on the #ZX81 defines if a BASIC program is currently running? Like, if you want a BASIC program to autorun, you can add a SAVE and GOTO 1, then just run from the SAVE and the running state and current line is saved so it just continues to run after load. Essentially I want a machine language program to autorun after load and as I'm planning on editing it elsewhere by creating a .p file,no just want to have one USR line and set the prog...
