Thinking about how awesome and exciting it was to get to play the classic Infocom text adventures back in the 90&#39;s. Ordering the classic masterpieces of infocom cd-rom by phone directly from activision before I had a cd drive because I just knew I had to get it or have a hell of a time finding it later! And I was right! Never saw it in a store. Going over to a family friends house and teaching them how to copy/paste as many .dat game files as a few floppies would hold just to play a few games. I had to choose wisely until I got a cd drive! Anyways thinking about Planetfall and a certain room with Floyd the robot! Probably the saddest thing ever in a text adventure. If you know you know lol! Oh and I forgot that in the first few moves of the game, you can get killed by a piece of celery! Now how cool is that?

I'll never forget this one, for an extra $10, I could've picked up return to zork! The guy didn't know if it was the floppy version or cd with cd audio music so I said no. I couldn't believe he couldn't tell me info on an extra he wanted to sell me for god sake! I wanted that cd! Oh and thanks mom!

@jpellis2008@dragonscave.space I played Suspended on stream a couple months back. Was super fun. It saddens me greatly that there is a whole generation that grew up without Infocom.

@jpellis2008@dragonscave.space Ow! Nostalgia...neurons...firing! Planet Fall and Floyd, now that brings me back. Blorple cube! I got the Bable fish! So many good games. I think I still may have a copy of "Lost treasures of infocom" on hard media in a box somewhere. I should fire up Trinity, A Mind Forever Voyaging, or Leather Goddesses of Phobos, and see if they are still as engaging as I recall.

@jpellis2008@dragonscave.space Yup. You get to like Floyd, then get annoyed with Floyd and then that happens. Poor guy. That was definitely a tear jerker.

@jpellis2008@dragonscave.space I remember ordering that collection as well. I found the ending to Stationfall rather sad; I liked Floyd! Still enjoy playing those games today.

@jpellis2008@dragonscave.space That certainly brings back some cherished memories. Text adventures were a big part of growing up for me. The Infocom games will always have a special place in my gamer's heart and on my iPhone. I'm so thankful that I got the Masterpieces of Infocom CD and copied the games to my iCloud drive.
