My favorite question: "so can I access this without patreon?" No. That would defeat the purpose of putting it on patreon.

> While the old system couldn’t carry on a conversation, you knew what you were getting. Gemini sometimes goes off on a tangent or forgets that it does, in fact, have access to a particular tool. That can make it frustrating to use for what’s supposed to be a quick voice interaction, but this is the future. Google needs an intervention😭 https://arstechnica.com/ai/2026/08/google-plans-to-kill-assistant-on-your-phone-on-september-4/

In Detroit: Become Human, the game I am currently modding, you interact by holding a mouse button then dragging the mouse in an indicated direction. Or on controler, move the right analog stick in that direction. The direction indicator is an arrow. So far so good. Arrow glyphs already exist in unicode: ←↑→↓. Screenreaders read these no problem. So logically, one would expect them to have simply copy and pasted these arrow symbols, since that is perfectly reasonable and straightforward. Did they...

@jdking92@dragonscave.space I don't recall having too much trouble signing up, though I think I got invited. Or maybe it was before they had capchas? That's fair though.

@jdking92@dragonscave.space musicians.today appears to be an instance focused on musicians. There is also mastodon.art which is where I see a lot of creative types hanging out. Or, you know, just stay where you are, if you're happy with that.

A hundred IDF soldiers staged a mass desertion of one of their bases, because the commander had some signs taken down. Not over the raping and pillaging of Palestine, that would be silly. https://www.timesofisrael.com/soldiers-stage-mass-walk-out-at-southern-idf-base-after-row-with-their-commander/

screen reader mod for Life is Strange: Before the Storm (original edition, not the Remastered version). Speaks dialogue, menus, choices, backtalk challenges, interactive objects, and provides walking navigation using the game's own pathfinding. https://github.com/ObjectInSpace/BeforeTheStormAccess

@parkermolloy He's been in the hospital since the start of the month after a cardiac arrest. He's not currently capable of doing his job as a Senator and the chances of recovery at his age are very low. If he's not currently dead, he will be soon. Republicans are clinging to the sceptre to avoid a special election, which is anti-democratic. The rest doesn't matter.

Voyager is serving up some really wacky episodes. I just watched Nothing Human, where Belana is attacked by a huge parasitic lobster. You'd think this would be the focus of the episode, but you'd be wrong: everyone, including Belana, is far more focused on the hollogram created to help get the alien off. (Phrasing) This is because it is based off the research findings of a Cardassian war criminal (ah, but I repeat myself). Apparently this is contravercial, or something. I'm not gonna...
