US friends are telling me it’s available for them too. Happy to hear that!

@anderseknert Oh, thank you so much for this! I wasn’t aware and wished there was some such thing. Turns out I just needed to look harder! Available in Canada too.

@anderseknert Is it this setting?

@anderseknert I know this was possible on xitter also, except that xitter would sneakily revert to the algorithm after a while and you'd have to manually throw the switch again. The "after a while" became shorter and shorter over time. (I don't know what it's like now, I left a few years ago).

@anderseknert I have never been on Facebook (or any meta things) or LinkedIn. The free market is working for me ok.

@anderseknert This is the only thing that makes LinkedIn bearable for me.

@anderseknert Huh, well that's something as an American

@anderseknert LinkedIn is owned by Microsoft, so it’s pretty obvious why it would be doing that.

@anderseknert I abandoned LI in the before times, but I think I recall similar experiences, both with the declutterring and the warnings of thou shalt not pass.

@anderseknert I have no clue how my feed looks like, haven't taken a look like 4 years. I only use it to keep in touch with a few people...

@anderseknert I didn't know this. Thanks for sharing! 🙏

@anderseknert In the EU, it's pretty on display, at least in the mobile app. And yeah, the EU requires any social media to have an option for chronological order.

@anderseknert OMG, thank you for this!

@anderseknert we have a "recent" option but it's still full of "likes" vs actual interactions between people.

@paul_ipv6@infosec.exchange 2026-03-29 21:48
@anderseknert it's available in the US (choose time order rather than "recommended"). you can also choose to not see political posts. it's still the cesspool that is linkedin but is a shallower, easier to wade through cesspool.

@anderseknert Where can I find this setting?
-
@tymwol@hachyderm.io 2026-03-30 08:49
@anderseknert oh wow, I didn't know about the setting. I changed it and it feels like a different site. Instead of everyone being 10x being more productive due to AI, suddenly, I see posts about people handling work burnout and some small local co-working initiatives... It should not surprise me, but it did much more than I'd expect.

@anderseknert They introduced this a few years(?) ago in accordance with EU laws. I noticed a big difference in my use of LI before and after the app: I'm definitely more out of the loop now, but I've finally broken free of their algorithm's clutches. Obviously, this is not what LI likes, but screw that hellhole; if it wasn't necessary evil, I wouldn't be using it anyway,
