  restocked some spices from penzeys (www.penzeys.com) and they included some "vote" stickers. they still have the page about republicans up on their web site. i will continue to support folks like this that not only have great products and service but show their support for democracy and against fascism.

  in the long list of ways that zuckerberg and i are different... while both of us have very strong opinions about what we'd like our tech to do, i have no illusions that i am in a demographic that will result in widespread consumer sales of same... perv glasses with no camera. virtual reality avatars with no legs.

  we do a katsu tofu regularly, panko coated, in the air fryer. for folks that aren't vegetarian but are gluten free, there are crumbled pork rinds and they work pretty well as bread crumb/panko substitutes. i usually do a mix of both but have done just the pork rinds for GF guests.

  watching the first "conan the barbarian" movie because i wanted something truly mindless. i'd forgotten just how little actual dialogue there is. de laurentis must have really skimped on screenwriters. we're 20 minutes in and i think there's been 2 minutes of dialogue (ignoring the "bladerunner" level silly narration on top of the movie)

  we all have certain dishes we love that we look forward at the holidays. but why only for the holidays or a specific holiday? in my "let's make fall dishes and hope we get fall weather" binge, i decided i really wanted a dressing i usually make for thanksgiving. cornbread, fennel, chestnuts, sausage, onion, celery, sage/thyme, stock. letting the cornbread cool now, then will toast it and assemble.
