Reading Sam Harris&#39;s &quot;Waking Up&quot; gives the same vibes as when I read &quot;the Satanic Bible&quot; by Anton Levay. It has interesting ideas and actionable advice to improve my spiritual life through meditation and contemplation, but it also refuses to present that in an isolated way because both books are positioned against something. The Satanic bible isn&#39;t just self help its self help WHILE ALSO hating Christians. Waking Up isn&#39;t just a book...

I might be stupid. I&#39;m trying to set up a GoToSocial Docker container on my docker server and then serve it via cloudflare tunnels to the web to give it a TLS and everything. I am not seeing anything and I think I&#39;m too dumb to find the server on my local network

Okay. I tried adding bluesky to Flare so I could see that as well as my Mastodon and GoToSocial and... I remembered how much bluesky looks and feels and acts like twitter did. Its not bad, but its not what I want anymore. Its very stream of consciousness and superficial. I know a lot of that is because my algorithm isn&#39;t tailored yet, but its different from a fresh mastodon feed. Mastodon there is nothing and I must build a good feed from nothing. History is an interesting field because you are mostly reading the works of other, ancient historians. Its a correspondence between you now, a long dead individual who felt what was happening then was important enough to write about, and, if you write too, someone else in the future.
