And if you're an iOS developer thinking "there's no way Apple would allow this," you're half right. There's no way Apple would allow YOU to do this. But App Store review policies are capricious as hell, and they make exceptions for major players all the time. With current leadership the way it is, they will absolutely allow this horseshit into the App Store.

If so, it would be a good way to track targets in Iran who install the app to get immediate notifications on whatever the White House publishes. Now you get pretty frequent GPS coordinates and some other metadata that can be fed through Palantir and tada, target locked

@middleclasstool@phire.place It doesn't matter. A month ago the FBI inadvertently admitted all of your devices are spying on you by releasing footage in the Guthrie case that shouldn't have existed. App or no, any device you have with a camera, microphone, or geotracker and a wireless connection is feeding your information to the US government without a warrant or any oversight.
