@agmlego@tacobelllabs.net @ebel@moytura.org I mean I wander about being visibly trans all over the place (especially rural places) - certainly get looks - some rude others just "never seen a trans person before". Have adopted a policy of ignoring men nowadays too. But haven't had anything worse than the odd remark & lots of people are lovely bear in mind I'm older and fairly tall

@agmlego@tacobelllabs.net while i have family up there i don't live there or have personal experience of the region, but in general the nature of the island is not such that there are really many places you'll be at serious risk on a short visit; that's not how it manifests in most of the country (usual caveats apply: the upcoming election may give you some hints and if you see people flying certain party colours maybe you want to avoid those people, but even they probably won't actually approach you) near Telford: depends how you're going to be able to get around but the Shropshire Hills in general are super beautiful, always worth making time for simply sitting and staring into the distance ☺️ you're right up against Wales (which i am more familiar with) and if you have access to a car, Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant or Vyrnwy might be worth spending the time to get to (the drive will be half the point), or ... frankly too many other landscapes to mention

@agmlego@tacobelllabs.net To be totally honest, while its name is well-deserved, I have never had a moment of discomfort over there. Most Britons are pretty "live and let live" sorts, and often the restrooms are single-occupant or they're up to modern code and have a single-occupant accessible restroom that doubles as a gender-neutral one. In fact, the last time I got to go out on my own, I went to a queer bar in Soho known for its sapphic clientele and was promptly chatted up by a nice gal from Birmingham.
