Two things I didn’t note in my post on Objective-C but could have: the compiler is crazy fast, and the debugger is wonderfully smooth, without all the latency we’ve become used to the last bunch of years. The whole experience feels so different — so light and easy.

@brentsimmons@indieweb.social Objective-C is the good timeline, C++ is the bad timeline. Slightly surprised you didn’t try Hugo, though. It builds my web site in 1.7s, but that’s 900 pages and 3,100 images.

@brentsimmons I really like Swift. And the compilation time doesn’t bother me much (though I remember how much faster Objective-C was). The debugger latency is just a joke though. I still ❤️ Objective-C and always will.

@brentsimmons Did a bunch of client work on a largely Objective-C codebase and man, it's so fast to compile!

@brentsimmons I still support a couple of Objective C projects and man, it’s so refreshing compiling and debugging it.

@brentsimmons @iKyle this is the joy I feel whenever I work on my side projects, which are still Obj-C
