Man in my 50s here. Have started telling the important people in my life that I love them every time I see them. The embaressment, especially with the men, might shave a year or two off my life but I'm not stopping now. If I drop dead tomorrow they'll at least know how I felt.

@fesshole@mastodon.social I don't feel remotely odd telling friends and family i love them. They're all cool with it too. The strangers in the street sometimes seem uncomfortable, but that's on them.

@fesshole@mastodon.social It says a lot more about the society you're in than it does about you that it's embarrassing to say "I love you". Been telling all my friends that since my teens. I'll never stop and I'll never apologize. You only have one eternal moment to not waste by being a coward.
