  I think everybody should curate their social media experience. Mastodon makes that easy because by default you only get to see posts from accounts you actively follow. If the posts from an account are not making your experience any better, you should unfollow that account, because ultimately you need to create the experience you want. You don't owe anybody your time on social media, you must choose to give it freely to them.

  @alice My birthday is on our national liberation day. This is one of the days that people fly the national flag. When I was little, a neighbour from across the street told me she was going to fly the flag on my birthday, specifically _because_ it was my birthday. And she did! She made my day. #TellAlice

  My partner is part of an app group with a couple of friends -- some close, some more distant. They share their wordle scores on there and all the little ups and downs of daily life. Just a little thing to keep in touch, and sometimes it (d)evolves into something serious or seriously funny. One of these friends has cancer. She announced that fact, and asked the others to keep doing the normal things on the app group because it was her one space where she was a person and not a patient. 1/

  Een full-electric huis met een warmtepomp zou het netwerk bovenmatig belasten, zeker als het koud is. Over heel 2025 was de piek die wij uit het net trokken, 5,7 kW. Da's 33% van de capaciteit van onze aansluiting. En dat was dan 1 piek, over het algemeen is het dus veel, veel lager.

  Lots of people expressing their (strong) dislike for daylight saving. But I like it a lot! Sure, yesterday and today are tough, but that will pass. The effect is that there is more daylight in the hours that I am active -- our society is set up in such a way that we're more active past noon. Daylight at 4AM is of no use to me because I'm in bed then. But daylight at 8PM is, because I am awake then.

En blijkbaar heeft niemand die artikel-kop gelezen en gedacht: "Oh, da's een beetje gek, misschien moet ik daar 'gereserveerde' oid van maken." En ik ben beslist geen taalpurist, maar dit vind ik dan toch wel lelijk. Zowel het taalgebruik...
