When I had Covid, I didn't notice any loss of sense of smell. I hardly had any symptoms. But 8-9 months later, which is typical, I started having olfactory hallucinations. I found it hilarious that I smelled cat pee or poop when there was none. Yes, my neighbor and I have cats, but they don't miss the box. I'd smell cat pee at his place or mine and we'd both sniff around and he wouldn't smell anything. After 15 minutes, neither would I. I laughed and figured it could've been worse.

@MaryAustinBooks@mstdn.social I've had similar situations. In the grand scheme, maybe it is worse when you can identify the smell that isn't really there.
