Olfactory hallucinations are annoying. I usually can't identify the scent but I do often try to find where it is coming from only to figure out that it doesn't exist. At least it doesn't smell like toast, I guess.

How does one go about declaring one's independence from the human race? I'm thinking I'd like to be a divergent species. I'm not saying I'm more evolved than anyone else (forget that whole homo superior concept); I just don't want to get lumped in with many of the humans out there these days.

I have a suggestion. What if the people making the choices were also responsible for facing the consequences? I know it's a novel concept and probably a bit crazy, but what do think? Can we try it?

You can't legislate morality. You make a list of morals and punishments, but won't prevent anything from happening. Laws only work after the fact and if they are enforced. Immoral people will do horrible things so long as they think they can get away with it.

I wonder what would happen if I put on a neck gaitor, hat, sunglasses, and sidearm while I went out to mow my lawn today or maybe strapped a rifle to the rider mower. We do get potentially dangerous wildlife in the yard. I bet one of the Trump-loving neighbors would call the sheriff despite the fact that it is 100% legal so long as I don't leave my property. We have rainbow flags and other liberal markers in the yard. I'm not in a good headspace today.

(No need to answer that) Saw some US political stuff followed quickly by a post about mecha (giant robot/mechanical suits) which became &quot;the least they could do is build some mecha for the military. Unfortunately, that morphed quickly into the thought of the main players in the admin combining like Voltron into a mega-fascist.
