@Natasha_Jay@tech.lgbt Hm, is that new tho? The first time i heard about ADHD, in the early 00s, was in the context of it being a hoax.

@theartlav@anarres.family @Natasha_Jay@tech.lgbt It used to be thought that it was caused by artificial colours & flavourings and sugar highs. The first 2 are probably bad in lots of ways, & sugar highs are a thing, but it’s not ADHD. It’s about pathologising natural neurodivergence at the same time as denying the worst aspects (yes, inconsistent), making it a matter of personal/parental responsibility, & reducing support by the state.
