@sundogplanets@mastodon.social I think we will try kefir. I know eating kimchi was a mistake because my stomach hurts enough to get my attention and I didn't eat very much. I eat nonfat Greek yogurt every day with a bowl of fruit but my husband doesn't like the sour flavor. We will find something that works for him.

@NorcalGma2@sfba.social @sundogplanets@mastodon.social For arthritis reasons, I've been incorporating fermented foods in my diet this year. I don't care for sauerkraut or kimchi, but I love kefir and buttermilk. Bubbies pickles (the only fermented ones readily available in my area), olives in brine, bleu cheese, yogurts with cultures, salami, homemade vinaigrette with apple cider vinegar and sourdough are the foods that work well for me. I try to have at least a few bites of five different ones each day. I found this article helpful: https://www.businessinsider.com/tim-spector-tips-for-eating-more-fermented-foods-gut-health-2024-12

@NorcalGma2@sfba.social @sundogplanets@mastodon.social Nancy's Kefir, raspberry or strawberry, is a lot like drinking a smoothie. We love it. https://nancysyogurt.com/products/organic-kefir/

  • @NorcalGma2@sfba.social @sundogplanets@mastodon.social Kefir can be an acquired taste, too. Maybe add some fruit or peanut butter? Or granola?
