I'm assuming gearing is in-hub planetary, good solid and low maintenance.
As for belts breaking, Harley has been pretty much exclusively belt drive since the mid-1980s. Lower maintenance and longer lifespan

@johntimaeus@infosec.exchange @user47@m.ai6yr.org @ai6yr@m.ai6yr.org i love the way the same tech winds up in disparate places. i saw planetary gearing and immediately went to banjo and ukulele tuners, many of which are planetary gearing. for them, it's due to weight savings and straight through, no 90 degree gear orientation. is it the same for bikes?
