I should just start a smart home business. Cabling, Unifi gear, planning, racks for media servers, and HA/DR planning. The focus would be secure smart home solutions. VLANs, remote support, isolation capabilities and add-on some monitoring as a monthly charge. Least my subscribers would know someone was watching their back.
Second startup would be a DFIR business.

@shadownetworks@infosec.exchange I did this for a while in the mid 2000s. At the time, WiFi was slow and coverage was tough. So I mainly ran cat5 in rich people's homes. Every now and then I would get a customer that wanted full automation, but the Ethernet jobs paid the bills. The automation technology was so basic back then. Mainly x10.
