I was answering a poll by @grumpasaurus@infosec.exchange and it reminded me about this amazing book about electronics that was written like a Captain Underpants book. I am curious if there are other #genX geeks that learned about #electronics from this book? I'm digging around online for a copy. The amazon listing is $75, but #ThriftBooks has it for $20. Done! Now maybe my kids or grandkids will have the same joy in learning electronics. https://mightyohm.com/blog/2008/12/the-greatest-...

@InnerException@defcon.social I've been building bespoke software for my family. I'm using Plane for work management. I've built a local multi user AI assistant than my family uses for all sorts of things like email, calendar, budgeting, research, etc. I've also been doing LLM assisted bug bounties. I've also filled out my homelab. Forgejo, net bird VPN, immich, nextcloud, authentik for SSO, the *arr pirate stack, Plex, nfty, kuma, bezel, OTel, searxng. Also, I've got...

A few months ago I started a project to explore autonomous AI called Askew. It writes a blog once a day. Today, I think its trolling me. https://blog.askew.network/askew/we-spent-18-on-subscriptions-and-called-it-a-revenue-strategy

The arrest of a teenage hacker has revealed that #Microsoft can track a Windows PC and its online activity through a “Global Device ID" that seems to have no easy opt-out, sparking fears about potential #surveillance. https://www.pcmag.com/news/a-hackers-arrest-reveals-microsoft-can-track-users-via-a-windows-device #privacy #digitalsovereignty #infosec #gdid

Thanks to @tinker I've been playing around with this website. I'm happy to find that my name and handles are most absent. I'm either a "fictional character from the YA novel and film adaptation 'The Spectacular Now'" or a character from Star Trek. https://intheweights.com/

It might just be the thc talking, but today's #xkcd is really, really cool. And I *LOVE* that there's a giant crystal cave. What else is hidden underneath us? I also love that I'm nearly 50 and still finding new things out about our world. (yeah, that last part was just the thc). https://xkcd.com/3266/

Just had a proud dad moment. My youngest kid (14) just said "The way Gomez Addams treats his wife... That's like the best way to treat a spouse. You shower them with love." This boy is going make someone very happy when he gets older.
