Imagine if we just believed disabled people? If we trusted that they were the experts in their bodies? If we listened when they said they could do something, and supported them when they said they couldn’t. If we gave accommodations and assistance without judgment? That’s true inclusion. #disability #ableism #chronicillness #eugenics #inclusion

@broadwaybabyto@zeroes.ca I recovered from a medical thingy recently, and when I returned to work and told my co-workers what was up, they totally looked out for me and made sure I didn’t overdo it… #ILoveMyUnion #unionStrong

@broadwaybabyto@zeroes.ca I'm only a small wheel in the health machine but the stories I hear never cease to be upsetting. The amount of ableism in the medical sector is vile and the hostility towards patients is horrific. We can only do our best to help and fight with them.

@broadwaybabyto@zeroes.ca Well said... I lost everything in life a long time ago due to a diagnosis (Schizophrenia) that was not complete. Had I been diagnosed with AuDHD before 2024, I might have had a very different life... I was told "Because you were so quiet and didn't speak out and be loud as a kid, you fell through the cracks." Shame really, not that back then we had many tools to help people like me.

@broadwaybabyto@zeroes.ca Human brains love to economise - so instant judgement rather then a deeper understanding tends to happen a lot. And how many schools teach and train us to be able to move beyond impulse?
