@broadwaybabyto@zeroes.ca I'm only a small wheel in the health machine but the stories I hear never cease to be upsetting. The amount of ableism in the medical sector is vile and the hostility towards patients is horrific. We can only do our best to help and fight with them.

    @lisra@kind.social @broadwaybabyto@zeroes.ca I won't tire of telling colleagues to: 1: Always assume what your patient tells you is correct unless you have a strong suspicion they're in a severely altered mental state. In that case, try to figure out how to help them best based on outside clues. 2: Talk to people. They'll tell you what they need. If you have more information, present it in an understandable format to them, and let them be an active part in creating their treatment plan. 3: Learn CRM guidelines.
