looks like the codeberg resolution banning vibecoded projects passed! democracy in action! I know being in software is just so exhausting right now, but I'm taking this as a reminder that we don't have to constantly be on the defensive and caught up into endless arguments friends, if you're exhausted by arguing with boosters, please consider just stopping that completely once you realize what's happening and changing gears to work with people you've already identified as allies; there is so much work we still need to do if we are going to preserve "software that actually works and can be understood" in the coming years https://codeberg.org/Codeberg/org/pulls/1253#issuecomment-19820434

  • @technomancy@hey.hagelb.org i don't completely disagree with this, but the wording is so nebulous that i'm expecting a lot of issues with the enforcement of these terms.

  • @technomancy@hey.hagelb.org Yessss this is a win. Perhaps I should try checking codeberg more than GitHub for cool projects then

@technomancy@hey.hagelb.org I find myself using Codeberg more than GitHub for the simple that I find Codeberg more usable. But when I've got a project there stating: "No Large Language Models (commonly known as "AI") were involved in implementing Alonzo, in the hopes that it'll compete against vibecoding. Contributors are expected to follow suit." I now feel more confident on focusing upon fulfilling my promise!
