Always underfunded, more lucky than competent, the IDB was never going to be a great success. The author is best known for writing musicals, a format that really doesn't work here. The made up conversations border on silly. Some historical accuracy is there.   📚 My book review of Concrete Hell: Urban Warfare From Stalingrad to Iraq Two chapters are relevant, but incredibly thin on theory. The rest is a fairly well written overview of a number of urban operations scenarios, clearly chosen to stress the authors' point, whatever it may be. The whole thing has a sizable US slant. So yes.   Plant maintenance person pointed out that the magnificent plant in my office space is now probably over 20 years old, that's how long it's been there. Sadly they don't get to be that old any more. Most office plants have to be replaced much sooner. Nursery stocks tend to be weaker, and more susceptible to bugs and disease. #TIL #plants #officelife
