"Maybe that was just where I saw the movie and the time I chose, but it worries me that women aren’t going to see this movie because this film is about a woman refugee dealing with trauma, isolation, and grief." https://news.chanda.science/archive/you-should-go-see-supergirl/

@lilithsaintcrow@raggedfeathers.com thank you especially for this phrase in the article- yours is “but one life, but in community, her life can hold meaning and impact”. This is what so many people miss- we can all have an impact by working together in a community, finding your community is the challenge.

  • @lilithsaintcrow@raggedfeathers.com It sounds like I should see it, but I'm just generally not into superheroes. The Marvel universe doesn't particularly interest me.

  • @lilithsaintcrow@raggedfeathers.com I also fear that Superhero Fatigue is partially to blame for its lack of success, coupled with DC films not being all that great for a long time. 🤔 I hope that filmmakers continue to push for more female-led stories, superhero or otherwise, because it’s LONG overdue. 🤞
