@blag@typo.social @FediTips@social.growyourown.services @_elena@mastodon.social I say that key to my move to Fedi was just quietly following and paying attention for a couple weeks. Reading articles and posts about culture. Seeing how it works without posting or getting into it.
You need to believe that the world can manage without your constant hot takes to accept that though.

@BramMeehan@ohai.social Yes, it definitely took me time too. I guess I need to strike a balance between fostering that shift in mindset (slow down, less/no dopamine) and offering up some relatively quick 'results' to make people think, 'hmm, this is alright, I'll stick with it for another 15/30/60 days', etc. It's probably obvious, but the community I'm thinking of is deeply embedded in the Instagram platform/mindset. Part of my 'pitch' is that this is *social* media, not an alternative marketing platform, i.e. come for the conversation, not the likes and new business.
