@vicfroh@mastodon.social Maybe it's just me, but I prefer "don't speak ill of anyone dead whom you wouldn't speak ill of when they were alive." For example, "Lindsey Graham greatly contributed to the average quality and integrity of mankind by dying and increasing the average for the rest of us." Lindsay? He doesn't merit the respect of me spellchecking that.

@vicfroh@mastodon.social there are so many dead people that nobody minds talking ill of. Vlad the impaler. Hitler. Nero and many of the other later Caesars. Rasputin. So why those guys, but not the people who actually hurt people we know and care for?
