    I wasn&amp;#39;t sold on the idea of government owned grocery stores until I read Gus Carlson&amp;#39;s column in yesterday&amp;#39;s @globeandmail. Anything that needs to be opposed with such illogical vitriol and neo-Reaganesque spite must be a good thing. Thanks Gus -- bring on the government run groceries!

    I am over 60. And I am absolutely fine with this -- I mean, age is just a number, I&amp;#39;m pretty healthy, living a comfortable life, being a grandparent is way more fun than being a parent was, etc. But there are some people who are quite a lot younger than me whose graves I would absolutely love to piss on before I shuffle off this mortal coil. Better start taking better care of myself, I guess.

    I live close to the centre of a city of 800,000 people. Our house backs on a river, which means we get more wildlife visitors than most city dwellers. Today we have had 5 deer spend most of the afternoon hanging out. They emptied the bird feeders this morning, and every once in a while one of them will poke at one of the feeders and gaze imploringly at us.
