@juliette@mastodon.green Around here, a lot of people have taken to ebikes so they can ride in spite of health limitations, etc. And then many of the groceries only have the racks where you have to lift the entire bike off the ground and get the top tire in a high up holder. Bad combo given the weight of a lot of those ebikes.

@juliette@mastodon.green The alternative spot is a narrow unmarked sidewalk hugging a car parking exit lane and some garbage cans. Fully in the sun.

@juliette@mastodon.green and yes we have CCTV, to discourage and maybe catch customers and staff stealing from us, but not there.

@juliette@mastodon.green Lock your bike to the trolley park (on the outside of it not the inside). Supermarkets usually have a dozen trolley parks well positioned in the car park, covered by CCTV and trolley parks have people coming to it to drop off their trollies every 5 seconds or so, making it hard for someone to steal your bike without having plenty of witnesses who saw the whole thing. But be mindful, some customers are dumb and will park their trolley right alongside your bike. #biketooter #cycling

@juliette@mastodon.green Or, "Of course we have bicycle parking. Look at all these bollards."
