All the talk of TSA and DefCon packing reminded me of the funniest situation I had happen back when. Wasn’t even something electronic! Between fires, floods, industrial accidents, earthquakes, war and surely other things I’m forgetting, a lot of people have had to evacuate this year. Huh. For the first time, I actually found a pebble in the dried beans I was rinsing. Good thing I do always pick through them, I’d just never found anything but broken beans before.

Will be testing the homemade butter pecan ice cream tonight. I don’t know if it’ll taste like what I remember having as a kid, but it seems it will at least taste better than the “frozen dairy dessert” some brands are selling today.

How are people finding Pocketbook ereaders from the usability and privacy angles? I’ve read good things, but don’t know anyone who has one in person so can’t check it out more directly. Are there any alternatives you’d suggest that are strong on those points? (I have yet to find a write up for the other brands I’m aware of that are complimentary on privacy.) definitely looking at an e-ink option, not a tablet. I also use Libby with my current device to check out library books so I would want...
