@MakersHour@cupoftea.social How a garment turns out is greatly influenced by the fabric. Picking the wrong type of fabric to go with a pattern can result in a truly horrendous failure, even though both pattern and fabric on their own are perfectly fine. (The atrocious dress that thought me this has since been taken apart and the fabric used for other projects) #MakersHour

Q3 What is the most drastic mistake you’ve learned from as part of a making project? #MakersHour Mistake? Never. There are no mistakes, only opportunities. (In many cases the biggest mistake is starting in the first place 😂) I have no exciting examples coming to mind for this alas. @MakersHour@cupoftea.social

@MakersHour@cupoftea.social A3. Drastic mistake? Left an incomplete embroidery on the bus at a transfer station. Oh dear! Measured once, cut... and it was too short, so I switched to another fabric. Plaid instead of denim. . Broke a needle on the sewing machine. Happens. Forgot the sugar in a cake. Still edible but not what I had intended. Did I learn anything? Move a little more cautiously, plan to repeat a step if needed. #MakersHour
