Interesting thing about how people who live with chronic pain experiences certain types of pain ... Where, let's start with this: a good personal trainer should always tell you that "if it hurts when you do a movement, listen to your body and stop doing it". If a personal trainer or similar who *isn't* someone that knows your particular physicalities well tells you to "work through the pain" ... Please don't listen to them! Anyways, when I do stretches and exercises, all of them hurt. Always. But you need to learn to listen to your body to distinguish between pain that's ... "acceptable". As in "I'm stretching this muscle, it hurts, but not in a way that feels damaging" and what isn't "nope, that movement is absolutely not okay"

@melindrea@beige.party Great advice! For some reason, my chronic pain has gotten much worse. I think it's partially because my spinal fusion messed up nerves/spinal cord/brain with large parts of my body, triggering other conditions as well including CRPS. And the pain is escalating in intensity, steadily reducing my ability to move well. But it makes sense I'm on a slippery slope here....

@melindrea@beige.party To be honest, this is why I don't like over doing pain meds, even if it means I am left somewhat in pain. The pain is a message I like to be able to listen to.
