  @actuallyautistic Just saw this. It obviously doesn't go into any great depth. But, I found it interesting that there seems to be an increase in auditory processing problems (APD) with the increased use of noise-cancelling headphones. As usual, there is no distinction apparently being made between those genuinely experiencing difficulties that they hadn't before, and those coming to realise a difficulty that they'd actually always had.   @actuallyautistic I don't know how old I was when I first began to realise that I was different in a fundamental way that was best kept hidden as much as possible. All I know is that as I grew, so did this awareness and with it a hole within me that could never be filled, because I never had the answer to why I was so different. When I was a teenager we had a next door neighbour who was in her 90's and still lived alone.
