aaarrrrggghhhhh tech support telling me to reproduce my issue and submit a log that doesn't exist through a form I can't access. I hate it I hate it I hate it. But what I hate most of all is being handled like I'm the problem for raising an issue. So, real question: is it a me-problem that I'm upset about the tone more than the content? They said "Reproduce the issue...", no please, no sorry to hear this, no we will be glad to assist, just commands, and for some reason that's what's irritating me the most. That reflects badly on me, doesn't it? I'm responding politely but I had to go over my reply a couple times to get there.

What do you do when the person you're interacting with directly is the interface to a really horrible and inadequate service? I try so hard not to take anything out on people in service jobs, and I don't know how to convey to the company responsible that this is unacceptable, without dragging this person into it somehow. Am I just being a Karen? Legit request for feedback here, including permission to tell me I am, in fact, being a Karen.

@iris@neuromatch.social is there any chance that at least some aspect of this is cultural? Asking because (as my son says) I basically run tech support for nerds, and I have to train my international staff (especially, in my experience, Germans) to do just what you're saying (acknowledge the customer's feelings of frustration).
