If you are #ADHD or #AuDHD with a pet... A cat water fountain not only makes the water more enticing, you can get one that blinks or changes light color when it's out of water. I'm forgetful AF, and this has really improved my cat's consistant access to water. Also, the little pump is sensitive to grime and will stop fountaining. It may seem like an annoyance to most people, but it's an easy visual reminder to clean it long before it's visibly gross.

@hellomiakoda@pdx.social For my cats all I had to do was to put the water away from food – I noticed that they usually drank from the Ikea watering pot I keep in a corner of the living room, so I just moved the water bowl to the other side of the kitchen, and they immediately started using that, too.

@hellomiakoda@pdx.social I really like the fountains this company makes: https://elfinfountain.com/ The electronics are totally separate from the water. They use a magnetic system like a lab stirrer which drives an impeller through two layers of plastic. Zero chance of a failure putting electric current in the water. The water tank is translucent (so you can see the level), and it has a water level sensor. I got a spare impeller and pump housing. Any time the water gets low, I swap them and put the ones which were in the tank into my dishwasher. Easy.
