@alexadeswift@lgbtqia.space @mina@berlin.social yep, pupil is still currently used in the UK, although I get the feeling that schools are tending more towards calling them students these days (although that is a gut feeling without evidence, but when trying to encourage kids to go there, especially for fee-paying schools, "student" makes them sound more independent and mature than referring to them as "pupils")

@alexadeswift@lgbtqia.space OK. Thank you. It's because I was speaking to someone from the US, and she said, it's a word completed unheard of there. I lived in England for some time, but that was almost 20 years ago, and I am unsure of how common the word currently is.
