@paul@notnull.space This seems incredibly respectable given the parameters you’ve defined.
SQLExpress for this is… crazy though.
If they realistically do need that size query result somewhat frequently, in addition to just making the calls more efficient, I’d also be asking if the back end database of choice is appropriate (SQL might not be the best choice for example, but if it IS maybe we haven’t done the work of normalization, or maybe we need a dedicated read replica etc etc).

@sudonem@infosec.exchange Thanks. Pretty much what I thought. And I have already questioned them about SQLExpress. I know little of this business, but my experience so far is they know very little past windows applications use SQL (or SQL Express) so it's the only option. Ohhhhh how wrong they are. Fortunately, this is during an evaluation period and I will be telling my client this application is not fit for purpose.
