@mattgemmell@mastodon.scot I've had my Brother laser printer longer than I've been a parent, and my oldest kid is an adult now! I think this printer might outlive me. It definitely requires less maintenance.

@mattgemmell@mastodon.scot The lights in my apartment dim whenever Brother starts printing and that adds even more magic to the whole endeavour.

@mattgemmell@mastodon.scot This is exactly why I have a laser printer. A Samsung, but it will sit there asleep for months and then happily print stuff double-sided when I ask before going back to sleep. I never have to wait for head cleaning, worry about dry ink, or other inkjet BS. In case of low toner, you can give the toner cart a shake and then set it back to work.
