@mastodonmigration@mastodon.online @ginaintheburg@mastodon.world You're technically correct bc he does technically contact his foot but the replay doesn't tell the story of the play. Ask any unbiased soccer fan - that was not a red card. And further, that was incorrect usage of VAR as well.

@ginaintheburg@mastodon.world In any case, suspending the red card once it had been administered in the game is pretty much unprecedented, and doing it at the behest of a political leader is shocking. This will forever tarnish this World Cup whatever happens next.
