The Stakes: Senate Democratic Party Leadership As we move through the last of these primary elections with unprecedented PAC spending against progressive candidates, and in favor of Schumer aligned corporate Democrats, it is useful to understand the national implications. Many think that the Schumer, DNC centrists have a lock on power, but the opposite is actually true. If progressives continue to win it is virtually certain that Senate Democratic Party leadership will change.

RE: https://mastox.eu/@BernieSanders/117009412125169439 This is exactly right. First, Juliana Stratton won in IL despite enormous spending against her. In Maine, no amount of spending could sway voters from nominating a progressive. Now in Michigan the billionaires and PACs are pulling out all the stops. What if taking big money ceases to be an advantage and turns into a liability? What if #WeThePeople are waking up?

Political News: Democrats flood Troy Jackson with cash as he races to catch Susan Collins People are obviously furious about the direction Republicans have taken the country... OK, the big money Schumer Dems and corporate media want to talk about Abdul El-Sayed calling John Fetterman an "ogre", let's dish. El-Sayed was saying that when a Democrat runs as a liberal and then gets in office and immediately flips to backing the GOP, they need to be primaried as a example--a head on a stick--to other would be turncoats. Them's fighting words. Damn straight. He's a fighter. #WeThePeople need fighters. https://www.politico.com/news/2026/07/27/el-sayed...

David Sirota on [Big Money Gretch] Whitmer's endorsement of Haley Stevens... "Whitmer is the daughter of the former longtime CEO of health insurance giant Blue Cross & she's been bankrolled by Blue Cross." "Her endorsing against the pro-Medicare For All candidate Abdul El-Sayed is extremely on brand." "This is corporate power trying to protect its power."

RE: https://mastodon.online/@mastodonmigration/116988440850794974 Michigan Democats have a primary next week between Abdul El-Sayed, a brilliant #WeThePeople progressive and Haley Stevens, an AIPAC Palantir big money Schumer corporate Democrat. The choice could not be more stark, nor could the stakes be more serious. The future of the Democratic Party and control of the US Senate Democratic leadership is in the balance.

RE: https://mastodon.online/@mastodonmigration/116984404932257367 So, this guy is not a slick polished pol, but if you actually listen to his speech you can understand why he ran away with the nomination. Why he will trounce Susan Collins. And, why Chuck Schumer is terrified of him and the Progressive Democratic movement. #WeThePeople are rising, and we are coming for their jobs.

Perhaps the least surprising thing, though still disappointing, in the news the last couple days is Whitmer's endorsement of Haley Stevens. If #WeThePeople are going to take back control of the Democratic Party we are going to need to do it without the help of the 'big money' corporate Democrats. Guess that's pretty obvious. 🤷 https://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/politics/2026/07/25/abdul-el-sayed-gretchen-whitmer-haley-stevens-endorsement/91050786007/

"Jackson turned his attention to the general election at a Sunday morning rally ahead of the delegate meeting in York County, where he secured the support of enough delegates to cross the 50 percent threshold."

Space News: UPI | SpaceX reschedules 13th Starship launch for Monday SpaceX announced Friday that it has rescheduled its 13th launch of Starship for Monday, one day after being forced to scrub the test flight mid-countdown. The 90-minute launch window is scheduled to open at 5:45 p.m. CDT at the company's spaceport in Starbase, Texas, along the southern coast. Some of the engines didn't start, [and] the company replaced two Raptor rocket engines. https://www.yahoo.com/news/science/ar...

Starship Flight 13 Scrubbed What is really fascinating is that SpaceX tried and failed to launch their Starship rocket today. The attempt was scrubbed after four engines failed to light, and there is almost no news coverage of the event. It's very weird. https://spacenews.com/spacex-aborts-starship-flight-13-launch-attempt/

Democratic Senate 2027 Leader Whip Count If Democrats are really successful and gain the Senate majority, perhaps the key question is who will lead the Senate. Could Schumer hang on, or are we looking at a new more progressive leader? Making admittedly wild ass assumptions about whether prospective next term Dem senators would vote for Schumer as Leader, it seems like change is coming. Thoughts/suggestions/corrections? Would love some feedback. [Edit 7/13: Changed Maine to Unknown]
