Agghghhh!!! 😖
📅 I have a medical appointment next Monday.
✅ Last Monday I got a reminder text & confirmed the appointment via text.
✅ Also got both text & email with a link to pre-register online. (I am annoyed at how this task makes the appointment encroach upon non-appointment time, but I understand it helps the practice.) Completed the online check-in process.
😠 Now today, I get a phone call from the practice. After a few muddled exchanges - "How may I help you?" "Uh, YOU called ME." - it becomes clear it's an AI calling!!!! They make me re-confirm the appointment again, tell me nothing new, and in the end do nothing but raise my blood pressure.

@ikuo1000@mas.to Ugh. I’ve pretty much stopped answering the phone. Everything is too much. And that was before the agentic apocalypse.

@ikuo1000@mas.to In this case, old school phone call reminder from a real person is far superior to new school automated email reminder + automated phone reminder. I always wondered what the check in person’s job was when we already checked in online, and they still have you show up 15 min early. Too many redundancies. Not efficient at all.
