The thing that’s weird about it is that they *are* professional designers. But most of them work for ad agencies. This is a field that is adjacent, but so unlike the field I operate in.
Most of these studios’ websites look exactly the same to me. Full-screen motion graphics, brand photography, visuals that pertain more to print than digital. But stylistically? So similar. Intentionally wacky, with wild color choices, and bad-on-purpose choices. I can’t relate to this crowd. I never have.

@louie@pdx.social That's because anyone can use the tools, and pick colors, and copy other people's ideas. I could do it! But - it would suck. I'm not an *artist*. I'd be doing what they're doing - looking at prior art and faking it. Being an artist is more than the tools. It's time spent and skill and talent.
