@jmaris@eupolicy.social So he's lecturing Ukraine to refrain from "launching indiscriminate attacks" yet offers no evidence that they are doing so. This is the kind of person who hopes they'll be admired for their "above the fray" superior moral stance. He literally uses the expression "both sides." I wonder how many letters he wrote to the Guardian condemning Russia's unprovoked and illegal attack, kidnapping of children, execution of POWs, indiscriminate bombing, torture, etc? No one is fooled.

@jmaris@eupolicy.social I do agree with his reasoning that two wrongs don't make a right. But the argument that the civilian strikes were deliberate because that's how Zelensky's words could be interpreted, that's just plain poppycock. It is pretty clear that Ukraine tries to keep their side of the war as clean as possible. You can't say the same of Russia.

@jmaris@eupolicy.social look, this is written not by an arbitrary academic. Christian Enemark has for years studied and teached ethics of international relations and drone warfare at University of Southampton. This is his field. He simply could not ignore the drone footage from this war and thus must know the exact way in which russian army wages war against civilians along all front line and behind it. Considering that, the easyness with which he established a moral equivalence between sides is of course terrifying, but it's also the intellectual failure. He should understand how drone raids on oil refineries are conducted (the videos are abundant), that GPS is jammed, russian authorities fail to effectively notify the population and so on, all information is already here. Interesting, is this lack of understanding is persistent? I'll try to read his works after 2022
